Play! is the first listening platform exclusively dedicated to tango. Unlike generalist streaming services (Spotify, Amazon...), where track information is often incorrect and suggestions are poorly suited, we envisioned an experience designed for enthusiasts: reliable information, relevant recommendations, and a simple interface to fully enjoy this unique music.
Creating such a service was a challenge, and more await us to improve it with your support and that of the many contributors to El Recodo. We are convinced that listening better to tango means living it better, and that every dancer, by discovering more and listening better, will also enrich their tango.
With Play!, we invite all tango lovers to dive into this culture, so that every note becomes a source of inspiration.

With My Play!, every user automatically shapes their listening experience. Based on your votes and listening habits, Play! creates a unique selection just for you. The suggested tracks are diverse, while maintaining subtle connections between them, offering a smooth and immersive listening experience.
To guide your exploration, you can easily choose an orchestra, a singer, a style, or an era that interests you. And to add variety, Search for a specific tango, create your own Playlists, or save your Favorites to revisit your top picks.
With Play!, you create your musical journey, at your own pace and according to your desires.

On which devices can I listen to My Play?
You can listen to your Play! directly from your computer via the Web (Chrome is recommended). While we prepare to launch our mobile apps for Android and iOS, enjoy our special launch offer to start discovering Play! right now. Stay tuned, the apps are coming soon!
What music can I listen to on Play?
On Play!, you can listen exclusively to tango. The repertoire specializes in the Golden Age of Argentine tango, and we regularly add new creations. For more details, you can consult the Tango Music database.
In which countries can I use Play?
Play! is available in the countries of the European Union, as well as in Norway, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkey, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt. We hope to soon expand our service to the Americas and Asia, while respecting copyright laws.
How can I share my subscription with my friends, my students...?
Your Play! subscription is personal and cannot be shared. However, your friends or students can sign up and enjoy their own personalized experience. If you have a school or an association, Play! can become a valuable tool for both students and teachers! We would be happy to offer you a group plan and contribute to the development of tango.
What is the available audio quality?
Play! offers optimal audio quality adapted to your Internet connection: from 64 kbps (for slow connections with slight quality loss) to 256 kbps (for stable connections with imperceptible compression). For each track, we select the best available version. Our quality criteria prioritize natural sound (minimally processed), correct pitch, and minimal noise (without artificial enhancements).
Can I download audio files?
No, downloading audio files is not allowed on Play!. The service is designed for streaming only, respecting copyright laws.
About Play
J'en bénéficie depuis quelques mois et je ne peux plus m'en passer! Désormais, je ne suis plus passée par les propositions redondantes et parfois peu judicieuses des plateformes classiques. Je me fais des playlist, je note mes morceaux favoris, quand j'ai peu de temps devant moi de joue mes favoris, quand j'ai de longues heures à meubler je lance Mon Play qui peut jouer non stop en fonction de mes goûts, cela me permet de découvrir mille tangos sans m'ennuyer et de rajouter encore des favoris a mes favoris.
Cela nourrit ma danse, et vive le tango !

J’utilise Play depuis plusieurs mois et je réalise la richesse du répertoire et de la lecture aléatoire qui me permet autant de découvertes que de relectures de morceaux qui se reproposent. J’ai la sensation d’affiner mon écoute, d’approfondir mes connaissances et de travailler ludiquement ma musicalité. J’écoutais déjà du Tango sur Spotify, limitée par la disponibilité ou les sources assez limitées. Ici j’aime me laisser porter et guider par la surprise des propositions, il y nait au fil du temps comme une complicité avec PLAY, une façon d’apprendre à se connaitre, des clins d’œil. C’est passionnant d’observer aussi la logique qui peut se trouver derrière « l’aléatoire ». Un voyage infini.
J’ai mis des mois avant de pouvoir écouter PLAY sur mon IPhone. Je devenais folle, je voyais le morceau défiler mais pas de son… Je n’avais pas compris que les différentes « modalités silencieuses » empêchait le son de sortir :)
